The “Red Teams” Margaritas / by Modern Adversary

It’s Friday and one of the best things you can do is to get a good Red Team Margarita. People tend to overcomplicate this simple and delicious drink. Here it is, the best and simplest margarita recipe ever.

The main ingredient of the magarita is tequila. Buy a cheap tequila and your marganita will suck. I like good tequila. Casamigo Añejo Tequila is one of the best I’ve tried and it makes a hell of a margarita. Alternatively get a bottle of Cabo Wabo, and you are set as well.

The recipe

  • 4 parts tequila

  • 3 parts Cointreau

  • 3 parts fresh lime juice

  • 1 part simple syrup

That’s it. Add all into a cocktail shaker, shake well. Add ice to a tall glass and pour. Or blend with ice for a perfect frozen Marg. Enjoy.

Ok, so what’s a “part”? It’s what you make of it, so if a shot glass is the “whole” then that’s 4 parts, then 3 parts become ¾ of a shot glass. You get the rest.

Simple syrup. Simple and easy: boil ½ a cup of water, add ½ a cup of sugar. When it dissolves put it in the fridge until it’s cold. Done.

Now, make one for yourself, one for your budy and one for those that never came home. Always have one glass for those that gave all.
